May 23rd is Red Nose Day. Red Nose Day helps children living in poverty stay safe, healthy, and educated here in America and around the world.
In the US, almost 13 million children – nearly 1 in 5 – live in families with incomes below the federal poverty threshold. These children are deprived of one or more basic needs, e.g. food, shelter, safe drinking water, sanitation, basic medical care or education.
Red Nose Day has raised nearly $150 million in its first four years in the US.
In four years, money raised through Red Nose Day has positively impacted over 16
million children and helped to provide:
Over 36 million meals to hungry American children
Over 960,000 children with educational support
Care for over 100,000 homeless children
Over 13.5 million medical services to children in America and internationally
